The Path of the Shaman by Anna Franklin.

The word shaman means ‘one who knows’ and is applied to someone who has gone through a shamanic crisis during which he/she recognises that the world is alive and connected, and that we are surrounded by spirit. The shaman travels to other realms of consciousness to gain teaching from Otherworldly beings, necessitating the ability to move from the world of everyday consciousness limited by the five sense, to one of non-ordinary reality.

Pagan Ritual by Anna Franklin.

In the Craft, every initiate becomes a consecrated priest or priestess working with ritual. Pagan ritual, whether it is an act or worship or magic, employs a specific series of stages, using symbolism and ceremony, to create a sacred place and state of consciousness whereby the participants are put in touch with forces outside themselves – the Gods. Step by step, we weave together the disparate threads of time, place and people using the beliefs, words, symbols, movements and intent of those involved to make the ritual pattern, a pattern by which we establish a link and cultivate a dialogue between the microcosm and the macrocosm.

Lughnasa, History, Lore and Magic,  by Anna Franklin.

Lughnasa is one of the eight festivals of the Pagan year and, according to the Celts, the first day of autumn. The heat of the sun puts a stop to summer growth and begins to dry out the crops during the Dog Days, supposedly the hottest days of the year. The harvest begins - an occasion of the utmost importance when the work of the whole cycle starts to pay off, and when the First Fruits were offered to the Gods. Explore the lore, history and traditions of the solstice, and celebrate with magic,  ritual, herb craft and feasting.

Yule, History, Lore and Magic,  by Anna Franklin.

The year has declined and languishes in the season of its old age.  The rich and fruitful days of summer have given way to the dreary days of winter solstice.  Each day grows a little shorter. The great source of life is failing, overcome by the powers of darkness and chaos. The sun god is dying. Will he be overwhelmed, or will he fight and overcome? The fate of the whole world rests with him. Then, on the shortest day, in the time of greatest darkness, the sun is reborn. The Wheel of the Year, which had been briefly stilled, spins on.   Explore the lore, history and traditions of the solstice, and celebrate with magic,  ritual, herb craft and feasting.
